Free email newsletter software?
Best Answer
Rebecca,
Thank you so much for your helpful insight. I will definitely take your advice and see which one works more efficiently for me. Do you think the extra $180 a year is going to be worth it? I get a little skeptical these days when it comes to "free" tools.
Thanks,
Molly
I think the $180 is worth it if you find it easier. But if you find Mail Chimp easier, I say go for saving the money. They do offer paying plans as well, but I think their strategy is that if you start with a free account you will be more likely to stick with them as you grow. And they do track open and click rate, plus the ability to send it to social media accounts, just like Constant Contact.
The solution which I am suggesting works well with Joomla (Content Management System) http://www.joomla.org/
There is an extension called ACAJOOM (FREE) - http://extensions.joomla.org/extensions/content-sharing/newsletter/964?qh=YTo...
Similarly a free module is available in DotNetNuke (Again a CMS) http://www.dotnetnuke.com/ which lets you manage your contacts and send them the newsletters
Email-M.Com is the best SAAS Email Marketing Software which is providing the lifetime free plan.ie you can use the free trail for unlimited days.http://www.email-m.com

Hi Molly -
That is great that you are collecting email addresses. I always encourage my clients to do the same. If you have under 500 contacts, Mail Chimp offers their email services for free. Crazy, huh? I have used their site for two different clients and it worked great! Plus, even though its free, it has all of the standard features: http://www.mailchimp.com/
Another site that I have used and several of my clients use is Constant Contact. It's not free, but still very reasonable – it starts around $15 per month. Plus, it's very user friendly: http://www.constantcontact.com
The best way to see which would work the best for you, is to sign-up for their free trial. Set up an account, create a template and then send a test to yourself or close friends/family. You will probably find through that process that you find one easier to use over the other. And the easier it is to use, the more apt you will be to use it.
Let me know if you have any other questions!
