Is globalization still being seen as a challenge for HR?
I read an article on Insala's site that said globalization would be a challenge for HR in "2009 and beyond." It's been a solid couple of years since the article came out, so I'm wondering if globalization is still being seen as the challenge it was a few years ago?

I think it's still a huge challenge for businesses on a much more generic level than HR.
Look at China - where many large companies are trying to express themselves at the moment - this year we've seen the exit of big names such as Best Buy and Mattel.
Mainly because companies understand the potential of globalisation but fail to understand "localisation".
There's definitely a new discipline on the horizon, for global-localisation management which is likely to spread itself across existing disciplines.
