Has anyone had success with B2B marketing on Facebook?
Facebook is a great tool for consumer marketers but it seems tough for B2B marketers to really capitalize on the user base. Any success stories or tips?

I have tried to explore this a little bit, most of the success we have had came when we shared our success stories and such on Facebook and one of our contacts picked it up and approached us.
I have had great success with sites such as linkedin.com and twitter.com. What I found to works really well is to pick someone you want to connect with and then see which accounts they use the most. For example if they have a thousand twitter followers, send then a msg on Twitter. If their account on LinkedIn has 500+ connections then connect with them through LinkedIn. I have found that this gets replies faster than cold calling or emailing them.
Hope this helps.
I agree with Chris, from a B2B standpoint I have set up Facebook accounts for business I have worked with in this scenario, but the interaction just isn't there. LinkedIn, when you make a group for your company and keep you target market engaged with active discussions has always seemed to work the best for instances with B2B business.
Facebook is a great place to connect with people and deepen relationships. Whether you are connecting with a company Fan page, or individuals who are decision makers, Facebook is all about relationships. People don't sign up for Facebook to be "sold". It should be part of a strategy that includes giving people relevant information, having a discussion or dialog and letting them know that you are a real person.
I see Facebook as a place where you can take your work relationships and turn them into friends. Friends like to buy from friends, even B2B. If you suscribe to Harvey Mackay's philosphy of sales, both are needed. LinkedIn will give you the professional information you need on a business and the individuals within it, and Facebook will give you the information that can set you apart from the rest of the competition.
