I have questions about ERP Products?

It seems like making a decision on purchasing an ERP product is a very complex one; where should I start?

Check out www.findaccountingsoftware.com

You can let them do the work for you for free or search through providers yourself. They basically spend about 20 minutes on the phone with you to determine your needs and will then provide you with about 5 potential software companies that are close to what you are looking for.

It can take a lot of the weight off your shoulders in terms of research.

The first step would be to identify your requirements. Go through this: http://systemdioxide.com/content/software-selection

Since the ERP market is already mature, you can do some research and find out what your peers/competitors in the same industry are doing, their 'lessons learned', successes and failures in implementations. That should give you a good idea.

I'd say selecting the right package is perhaps 25% of the answer... the other 75% is how and who you implement with.
