Have you attended a Geoffrey Gitomer course and if so, was it helpful?
I sell SaaS based services to sr. executives in the F1000. I havve been following the material Geoffrey Gitomer publishes for a while and like some of what he shares but much of it seems to be geared toward product and hardware sales.
I'm curious to hear from others who have attended a Gitomer training session on the value and lasting impact of their experience.
As a bonus question - Are you using his newly launched 'Ace of Sales' tool?

Gitomer addressed a sales force of mine that sells outsourced HR; a truly intangible offering that requires a sales rep to identify issues specific to the businesswith nothing to demo. His messages are upbeat, entertaining, and contain some practicle ideas. He likes to be the headlineer on a program. He doesn't measure up to that spot, though. Does he have material that will help a sales rep sell better: no. For that, I would strongly urge you to consider breakout sessions where techniques are taught; e.g., Wendy Weis on cold calling.
Dennis - Great insight and thanks for sharing. That has been my experience with Gitomer so far.
If you want someone who can teach your salespeople how to craft messaging that reaches and engages busy, time-starved buyers, I'd highly recommend Jill Konrath. She teaches salespeople how to think the process through and craft compelling, personalized and meaty conversations. She wrote Selling to Big Companies and she has a new book coming out in May, SNAP Selling, that is excellent. (I was privileged to read a review copy)

I like Gitomers stuff a lot. I've read his books and get his tips in the business journal.
If just signed up for a sales tool which has helped me get lots of appointments. There is a free version. I hope this tip helps some of you out.
