How can I get a list of the decision makers at companies who book speakers
I have an incredible story of overcoming seemingly insurmountable obstacles in my life and not just surviving them, but thriving because of them. I have already given many speeches to rotary clubs, associations, etc...since my story broke last July. I have had local and national media coverage. My inspirational and hopeful story affects everyone who reads about it or hears me speak. I have been given yet another chance at life and my real purpose is clear. Hi Barry -- first and foremost, your story and your perseverance are incredible! Now, how to translate that into inspiring others? I think you have to tune up your Web site so it not only reflects your story but also what you have learned and how you want to help others. A good place to start on the speaking tour is at local colleges and universities. Contact the student activities office, or the athletic department. Wouldn't it be great to inspire young athletes? If you can do what you do, then they can surely take your lessons and motivate themselves to higher levels. Also, publishing a book would most certainly get you speaking engagements; if that is not possible, keep pitching your successes to the media, starting with biking and bowling magazines, or cancer publications like Cure.
