It may be helpful to first look for and identify the areas where lags in communication could be impacting your bottom line. For instance, if a sales lead is dropped into a queue (paper or electronic) and picked up at some later time, there may be some risk that it will not be picked up in a timely manner (or picked up by the wrong person). The same may be true for customer complaints or business partner requests for service.

These are common areas where real-time collaboration can produce tangible improvements in responsiveness and agility.

In my opinion, solid collaboration is all about removing wait-states. The quicker you can respond to opportunities and needs, the more effective and productive your workforce and company as a whole will be.
