Different licenses are required depending on the type of business you are starting/purchasing, or depending on the industry within which one operates. One must also consider licensing requirements at each level of government including federal, state, regional, county and city. To identify specific licensing requirements by each agency, search keywords “business license” and the applicable state, county, etc. to determine the requirements of each.
