How do I find a textile manufacturer?
We are in the retail industry and looking to find a textile manufacturer offshore (Republic of Georgia, India, or Pakistan). Our company is relatively young, so we want to be certain that the company we choose is for us. Should we be getting multiple quotes or are most of the manufacturers overseas around the same price?

Dear Sarah
First of all it depend what kind of products you intend to source from any of these countries. As each country have its own strengths and weaknesses. Secondly, yes prices do vary from manufacturer to manufacturer depending on multiple factors i.e. size of the organization, quantities, margin of quality acceptance, method of payments (advances, LC at sight, 30 days LC etc.), your knowledge of the prevailing market prices as they fluctuate time to time etc.
I would recommend you to get in touch with local sourcing company who is willing to work on your behalf to assure quality and best available prices in market.
I would like to present you a brief description of who we are. We at Concept Textile Pakistan are in manufacturing and sourcing business for last 5 years with extensive links in textile industry of Pakistan and Bangladesh. The directors of the company bring more then 50 years of textile experience with quality assurance, production and marketing to the multinational brands. In our effort to run our own business despite being one of the known personalities in textile industry we have after a long struggle managed to take off with a medium size manufacturing and are already sourcing for Espak, Triton and Manterol in Spain on turn key basis.
I’m not trying to make you a sale but your first contact is here. If you like I can send you a full profile of my company.
Thanks,
Usman Amer

Hi Sarah,
If you are a young company, you would need a company who can be more of a partner business associate rather than being a supplier. You should also look into possibilioties of having an agency to represent your company to nuture your business as you can't have 24x7 presence in the offshore area.
Oodles of good luck for your new venture.
kind regards
kamini
