How do I track traffic coming from a website that I just recently created a partnership with?
We recently launched a new site and we created a partnership with another online publisher. We want to see what kind of traffic we are getting from that site. How do we create a tracking link that reports how much traffic is coming from that site?

In google analytics you can track this. If you have google analytics installed you must go to the URL builder http://www.google.com/support/googleanalytics/bin/answer.py?hl=en&answer=55578
Fill in campagne source: that is the refferer (the site were the link is located)
Campagne medium: is it a banner a tekst link or something else
Campagne name: you can give a name to this campagne. This name you will see in your analytics. You can call this the name of the partnership
Click on Generate URL, the URL you get that is the URL your partnership must use to link to your site. And then you can see all the traffic your contracter has generated.
Sitenote: This kind of URL is not so good for your SEO because you generate a new URL to the same page and google will see this as a identical page.
Are you looking to just track the traffic from the partner site as a whole, or are you interested in actually identifying specific visitors at an individual level and tracking conversion as well? Analytics will just provide a statistical overview... If you want to she who is coming, you need visitor tracking software such as the one we provide at Net-Results :-)
