I think the iPhone is great.
I searched for one with a touchscreen, full qwerty, and windows so I could use word, excel and sync with my outlook. I picked the HP 6945 communicator. Plus it has GPS and a camera. I’m totally happy with it.
When I was looking, I paid attention to the following:
*Good processor
*Can sync with a PC
*Organizer with capability to get your to-do list from your other computer
*Contact management
*Keyboard for emails/SMS
Combined, that meant I wanted a windows mobile with a sliding keyboard (maybe a touch screen). A good processor can be tricky to find.
Battery life is also very important! Don’t pay attention to the tiny features. Just get something that you know you can count on.
Following features are must for my business cell phone:
- Adobe support
- Qwerty keyboard
- Office suite/editable
- Organizer
- Good email support
- VPN connectivity
- 3G enabled
I still use a Motorola PDA but I think iPhone would be a good purchase.
Great suggestions here but also think about durability. Some phones easily break when dropped and have a user put out until a replacement phone can be issued.
Also, think about data security. If the phone is lost how will you wipe the device so company data is not accessible by strangers.
