How do you evaluate an on-demand CRM system?

What criteria do you use to evaluate an on-demand CRM system? What questions do you need to be sure to ask on-demand vendors that you don't need to ask software-based vendors? In an on-demand world, who is in charge of security- the vendor or the user?

Hi Mark, to evaluate an On-Demand CRM solution versus an On-Premise solution we recommend you to take a look at our whitepaper "A closer look at On-Premise versus On-Demand CRM" where you will find important issues discussed that should be taken into account when looking for an On-Demand solution, like: data security, how customizable are their solutions, slow connections and price. Find it here http://intelestream.net/en/lp-online-versus-on-premise.html.

What do you mean by on-demand? SaaS?

And what is the alternative to a software-based system? A piece of paper?

The difference between SaaS and on-premise systems is that the software is held on their server, not yours. There is still software. They are still available on demand.

Please clarify what you mean.
