How do you generate leads online?
I work for a start-up solar equipment company and we're looking to build our lead generation and nurturing programs. We captured some leads from our website, but want to do more online lead generating. How do you generate leads online? Do you use specific software, or partner with a lead generating company? Do you buy leads from search engines? What works for you, and what suggestions do you have for us?

Curt are you selling your services to consumers or businesses? Do you have enough customers to create a demographic/lifestle profile for consumers and or firmographic profile for businesses?
One of the ways that we generate leads online is through ALOT of great and relevant content, targeting specific keywords and phrases people are actually searching for.
You can do this by writing and submitting articles, creating videos, creating a podcast channel, a blog, facebook page and twitter.
All of those things are either driving the prospect to download a free buyers guide, request a free needs analysis, cost savings analysis in your situation.
I would stay away from buying leads online- alot of those companies sell their leads to more than one person.
Another way to generate leads is through a professional inside sales or telesales company.

Do you have a Facebook fan page? How about Twitter? Do you do any You Tube video marketing? Search Engine Marketing is also a great way to generate leads. Make sure to target specific keyword phrases. Hire a company to do some link building. Make sure the company performs White Hat SEO and not Black Hat. Hope all of this helps. :)
