How do you negotiate a job offer when you feel like you deserve more?
I just recieved my first job offer, and I feel like the salary is lower than it should be. I've done my research and it proves that I could be making more for this job. How do you negotiate for a higher starting salary when your prospective employer clearly has the upper hand?

I recently came across a great article written in Forbes in 2009 on this very topic. I think you should take a look at it as it provides some great advice on how to negotiate a salary. In addition, don't sell yourself short -- if you feel your experience warrants a higher salary, you should present the facts (i.e., what other similar companies are paying employees with expertise and experience similar to yours) and request a higher salary. As this article in the below link says: most employers expect salary negotiations. The trick is to do it tactfully and try to reach a mutually beneficial agreement.
