How do you think mobile devices will make an impact on how we do business in 2011?
What are some changes that we have already seen from the introduction of mobile devices (iPads, smartphones, etc.) into the workplace?

Mobile devices are already making a big impact on your we do business.
The update has been slow, but accelerating as both device and network capabilities grow.
My prediction is that 2011 will finally be the year of enterprise mobility.
This are four of several reasons i think this is true;
1. Increasingly, managers at all levels are realizing that the primary metric that sits beneath how we measure an employee's ability to be be successful starts with how connected that employee is with the people,systems and information needed execute their job well. Think about out it for a minute and ask yourself, can an employee be successful in the day and age with out connectivity?
2. Near laptop class handheld devices are not only sporting faster computing power, but in the last two years have made substantial gains in the user experience. Something that has held wide use and adoption of handsets beyond email as hassle free tool
3. The total cost of ownership (TCO) of mobile devices is dropping. In 2011, i expect the TCO of the mobile business employee to drop by some 40%.
4. Business policies are made the are core of a company. Customer business intelligence, support and sales are made the edge. Increasingly i see company recognizing this trend and will adopt mobile technologies to streamline business efficiencies to the customer interface.
Please don't hesitate to let me know if you would like to discuss this in more detail.
