This is a really complicated question. You are too small to sell to a major corporation and you do not have the people on board in your company that have the experience to do this. In short, I recommend that once you are secure in your patent, that you consider having a firm that already sells in these channels license the product from you and sell to the channel. This assumes that there is a market for similar products and that your product is better/cheaper, etc. Otherwise you will not get much traction with resellers.

I agree with Rick, right now you have nothing to offer a big retailer. It sounds like you haven't started production yet.

You will not be able to gain the attention of buyers on your own. Rick is right that you need to find someone that already has connections and is selling into this market. There are many such groups as well as manufacturer/rep matching agencies. When you have the patent and if you go to production, let me know and I will put you in touch with the contacts I have.
