How many hours/ week can you work before getting totally burned out?

Thursdays are a tough day to stay motivated. When do you generally crash? How do you make it through your week without getting burned out?

it all depends on the individual. how much they love their job, how much they hate it - how busy they are consistently; as of course Stress.. stress from the job; from management; from the other staff.

one of the best way to help avoid burn out is loving what you do, and the company you work for. If that isn't working, then maybe considering different employment may work..

Diet can also play a big role in burn out.. not eating effectively, not drinking enough water, too much coffeee or sweeets will actually make burn out worse.

Meditation during the day, walks during the afternoon, and short power naps help with burnout

For me, it's not a function of how long can I work, but what is the result of my work. If I'm working on a project non-stop and say that project should take six months to complete, and I'm working with a group that makes my life hell, or the wheels are spinning, but we're not getting anywhere, then it will not take long for burnout to set in. However, if progress toward the light at the end of the tunnel is being made on a daily/weekly basis, I'll feel good about it, plug away relentlessly, and then reward myself with some downtime once the job is done.
