If Google Didn't Exist, Which Search Engine(s) Would You Use?

Taking my marketing hat off, as a user I really like Blekko's tools/filters and the Bing team has probably been the most innovative over the last few years. If the Big G went down, that's how I'd roll.

haha, if Google didn't exist we'd still be using the frustrating combination of one part Ask Geeves and two parts phone book :)

If Google just popped out of existence today, it would leave a huge opening that would likely be filled in large part by Bing, given the influence and strength of Microsoft. If Google was gone, it might also give Yahoo a few more years to turn itself around before going kaput.

There would be a flood of other contenders as well, including new services and the 100s of other search engines that currently share the last 1% of the search market.

In the absence of Google, people would increasingly search within platforms to find information. For example, when I'm looking for a person or a company I'll use LinkedIn before using Google even today. And if it's a history or geography question I head to Wikipedia first.
