I’m looking for cheap new laptops to distribute to my outside sales team.

What brands are recommended? Is there a way I can get bulk pricing for ordering 10 at a time?

To be honest this market place is nowhere near as fluid on pricing as it used to be, and the price for one is pretty much the same price as you get for ordering 10 or even 100.

If price is a factor consider a decent netbook like the Acer, which will happilly run all your applications etc. but has a small screen (not ideal for giving laptop based presentations, but if your staff use projectors - not an issue) which you can pick up for around 2-300 USD each depending on spec.

I'd recommend using a branded notebook for the better post-purchase support agreements, but PC's in any form are much of a muchness nowadays, and you only need basic, low end for most business use (outside graphic design anyway).

Dell's netbooks are built for their education market first, then moved over to the business area. They're affordable and meant to survive middle school users. Check those first.

HP makes theirs with metal cases and use DriveGuard to protect the hard disk, but cost more. If budget it tight, start with Dell.

Adding on to what Nik posted, CDW has a few notebooks under the Acer brand that are of lower cost. It really depends on what you are looking for in your notebook. Asus and ViewSonic are lower cost as well. Depends on who you work with as far as pricing. Each company/account manager is different. And there are always deals going on.
