I've Got 3 Months to Build a Community into a New Professional Training Business - Where do I start?
This is for an education and training business targeted to a specific niche of financial professionals. E-commerce, content management and learning management systems are already being integrated - how do I add a social network into the mix? What is a reasonable budget for adding this, what software do I recommend, and what type and level of human resources will it take to make it successful over time?

Depends entirely upon what kind and levels of collaboration, target audience do you intend to start with and the roadmap that lies ahead.
Do you already have a web based social network/community in place and want to target this community with educational, training services, content management etc or is it the otherway round?
A good and practical place to get started with a knowhow of how to marry elearning to a social media / content hosting site like YouTube is to study the model at www.khanacademy.org.
Thanks for link Kingshuk. It is the other way around - plenty of content (resources like breaking industry news, white papers, case studies, webinars, etc.) to draw students into community - but no community framework in place as yet. It is a highly specialized financial area with lots of practitioners who normally can only network at conferences and state association meetings. We want to give them a forum to exchange practical business and educational information.
