Job description for a Network Systems and Data Communications Analyst?
My CTO just informed me that he wants to hire a "Network Systems and Data Communications" analyst. We've never hired someone into this position before, so I have no idea where to start with creating the job description for the posting. Does anyone have an example they'd be willing to show me?

Your CTO knows what responsibilities the new employee will have. The title of the position should not drive the responsibilities. Document the CTO's requirements for the new employee's responsibilities and be sure to include those in the job description.
I'd suggest you want to be looking for someone with protocol design experience. An electronics engineer with strong software capabilities (or vice-versa) should ensure that they have the required skills. You may also want to put that good reverse engineering skills are desired of the candidate.
Someone who is good at taking things apart and fixing them is also a good candidate, in that they have an ability to be methodical, think logically, analyze and ultimately work a solution.
You can take a look at this online offering:

Still, I backup Rick's post: You should really first determine what do you need the resource for, and then check what titles out there actually match the needs, not the way around.
