Is LinkedIn more popular than Focus?
It seems LinkedIn have more people connected to it than Focus. Also, it way easier to find former coworkers and friends than it is on Focus.

Well, well Tanjela, aren't you quite the rabble-rouser?
If, by "populat" you mean, "do more people know about and/or use LinkedIn than Focus?" the answer is probably "yes."
LinkedIn started in late 2002 and has grown to become one of the Big 4 social media platforms. It's always had more of a buttoned-up, professional reputation than the others, which has attracted a huge following of business professionals over the years.
For the longest time, it just seemed like an online resumé database (heck, there wasn't even a portfolio option!), however, in the past couple years they've started to add some interesting and integrative social features.
I don't know how long Focus has been in existence (Brian Phelps, a little help here?), but I only discovered it within the past couple months.
I've surmised that the objective of Focus is less on "connecting with former coworkers and friends," and more about sharing and learning from a wide variety of smart, talented and experienced people.
I've had a LI account for years, yet I've probably spent more time on Focus in the past week (this idea-sharing can get addictive!), than I have spent on LinkedIn in the past 4 years (although, I've been intrigued by LinkedIn Answers).
The beauty of having many players in the game is that it gives users a choice, it allows for various platforms upon which to represent your brand, and the competition in the field forces each of the players to continue to innovate - which ultimately benefits the users.
More than a popularity contest, different social platforms are going to be utilized in different ways. If one platform meets someone's needs better than other platforms, then that's where they should spend their time.
Linkedin is popular than Focus. I have joined just a couple of days back yet I feel that I will get a power network for me from Focus.
There're several things that upset me about Linkedin even though it has a lot of members. Does www.focus.com need as many members? I think that focusing on the minority who lead the majority can also be of great value. Moreover, changes in the quality and/or quantity of things might even create a need to change focus. A few years ago I had written "Understanding business needs and acquiring them with intention can keep everyone focused on what matters." on http://blogs.siliconindia.com/shakti/Speed_of_Need-bid-FIJUC16D82536982.html Since then, I have even more thoughts on this. Perhaps it would also be of value to you. Best! Shakti Saran
