Looking for a vendor recommendation to help with list cleansing

I have an e-mail list of ~75,000 current individual customers.I'd like to break those out by e-mail domain and then assign based on that, a company they are associated to. Of course scratch the gmail, yahoo, hotmail, etc. Ultimately, I'd get a list like: 120 - Best Buy 110 - Intel 95 - Whole Foods ... That I could pass to the reps for more informed prospecting when they are going after the enterprise sale. Any recommendations are appreciated. Thanks!

If you want to do some of this domain grouping on your own you could import the list to Excel (2007+, you need more than 65k rows). Then dupe the address to column B (this preserves the whole address in A), then do Text-to-Column on B with the "@" delimiter. Now you can sort & filter on the domains (column C.)

The services (and there are quite a few) will do a lot more such as verification which might be helpful. There are also freeware apps to dedupe if you need that.

Hi Nate,

Like David suggested you can do this of your own or get a vendor to do this for you. We at Sales Inside Inc have helped many customers in similar data cleansing jobs. We have some Excel gurus on our staff and also use some of the automation tools to accomplish this. We can do a small “No – Obligation” sample and share the results. You can then decide to engage with us.
You can contact me at pchadha@salesinsideinc.com or call at 408-512-1195.

Hi Nate:

I usually don't like to respond to questions with any of my company's offerings, but considering it is directly relevant I will go ahead and answer.

If you have an IT/tech resource internally for your marketing needs, I think you can do this in-house as well if the scope if just what you mentioned.

Another option is to work with an vendor. There are a lot of vendors which is good news and bad news. Its tough to usually find someone who is quality focused.

At ReadyContacts (http://www.readycontacts.com), we do a lot of contact data build/append/cleanse and the requirement you mentioned is something we handle regularly. You can reach me directly at 408 223 1075 for any questions or request a call via our website.

Are you also looking to append company data based on the domains? Do you think getting LinkedIn profiles and current job description for these contacts be useful for your sales team?

Please feel free to reach out for any questions.

Vaibhav,

I just did a quick review of ReadyContacts. If you can get at even half the charateristics implied by your marketing material from a simple email address you've got a winner.

On the other hand... it is a bit scary! BTW, I like to know if you can figure out how I like my steak - medium or rare?

David:

The idea is to communicate our focus on research to build lists and mostly we haven't had anyone assume we'd get what we used as a way to explain the concept :) So no, there is no way we can tell how you like your steak.

Having said that, complex list requirements (in terms of deep rooted roles or high volume title-based lists under budgets) are something we love to deliver on and I would be happy to help with any list you need so you can see the proof :)

Cheers!
