Mac or PC? Which should I choose for my new job?

I just got a new job and they're asking me whether I want to use a MAC or a PC. I'm fluent in PC, but only proficient in Mac, but I'm not sure if this is a good opportunity to dive into the Mac world. I also don't want to give myself a slower start than usual. In terms of database analysis, report design, and general efficiency, which direction would you recommend?

MACs are superior for work in the visual arts while PCs are standard for business applications, due to the nature of the applications and the available software.

I have to agree with you Jim. Macs were developed specifically for the world of design and graphics while PCs learned toward the world of spreadsheets. However, as a Marketing Manager I live in both worlds and even though I have taken classes in a Mac environment for design I still prefer doing photoshop on my PC. Although my younger Marketing Assistant insists I would like Macs better if I crossed to the dark side.

Mac's are also superior for software development - unless of course you are developing specifically for the Windows platform.
