The only way to strengthen the relationship is for sales to define what it believes a qualified lead is, and for sales to be given faith in the leads marketing is passing. It's a two-way street - the distrust is sown on both sides - but the technology is there to improve leads going to sales as long as sales can explain what it thinks makes a lead qualified. And, once the two sides are talking, someone needs to make sure they don't stop talking.
