Mobility and your IT infrastructure: top "gotcha(s)?"

We routinely work with IT team's that have been tasked with supporting mobile devices in their infrastructure; particularly as they consider outsourcing that management to a company like ours.

Here are a few of the more common challenges they find themselves dealing with: minimal policy regarding platform or provider selection, accurate identification of devices and their assigned users, complex internal approval processes for ordering / replacing devices, accurate feature and rate plan selection.

Ultimately we have seen much progress over the last few years insomuch that IT is not being given a strong voice regarding mobility management. As a consequence of that, many of these issues are themselves inherited from prior approaches.

Whether one ultimately manages internally or outsources, the challenges must be solved and addressed to have a secure, cost effective and well functioning mobility program.
