Is network-attached storage the right choice?

IT resources at my company are scarce and we don't have a real IT expert- but we are buried in data. Is NAS the answer?

Dennis,

I can't tell you if NAS is the right answer, because I'm not sure what the question is.

What problem are you trying to solve?

What are the business requirements for this data? Does it need to be accessed quickly? From specific applications? With a certain level of redundancy? For a specific budget? Etc...

Dennis,

To expand on what Andrew stated above. If you are asking this question without detail then you should highly consider contacting a consultant. The way the question is stated above is equal to me asking if this tie goes with this shirt when you can see neither of them.

There are many choices that can be made in the storage world. What the right answer is depends on quite a few variables.
