Opt-in emails vs. out-out emails?

Is there any way to send opt-out emails without them coming across as spam? Are opt-in emails the best choice, or the only choice?

Opt-in emails are usually the best approach to take when sending our email marketing campaigns. Having said that, opt-out email marketing is very common on B2B and it is not illegal as far as I know, considering you are CAN-SPAM compliant.

Having said that, opt-in or opt-out, if your content is valuable and relevant to the prospects you are reaching out to, it will be perceived favorably I believe. If your content is not useful, too salesy and off target, then even if the list is an opt-in list, there are changes that a prospect may mark your message as spam.

This is a great question and I am looking forward to everyone's input and thoughts on this.

Cheers!
