Depends upon where you are located.
An option for some could actually be your local outplacement agencies (Right Management, Lee Hecht Harrison or some of the more regional ones) They often have in transition executives who would love some project work, are very good at what they do and won't charge you excessively like some consultants or consulting firms do.
You could also seek assistance from smaller firms or vendors and may be able to locate them through a search on someplace like LinkedIn for example.

If you are in the New York area, we provide these kinds of services. Part of our organization handles recruitment at all levels and all disciplines. We have also worked with non-profit organizations to manage events as well as worked with commercial banks in opening new branches. As for financial management, we have affiliated organizations we work with that can handle those issues.
