Charles Phillips resigned and is being replaced by Hurd at Oracle.

Mark Hurd's claim to fame is squeezing efficiency out of companies. But he is no innovator, and as his bad reputation among HP employees suggest, he is no inspiring leader.. Oracle is already good in squeezing inefficiency and brutal cost cutting. So Mark H cannot be a a big value add to Oracle. It looks like Oracle will have two brutes on top instead of just one!
I suspect that Hurd is just using Oracle as a better vantage point for transition to a role more suitable for him. Larry just took care of his friend. In a year or so, we'll see Mark Hurd in a new role in a new place...
