A question for female HR professionals: Why did you choose HR?
The HR profession tends to be dominated by women in terms of numbers. I'd be very interested to find out some more about why female HR professionals decided on the HR profession, and why you think it might be that HR tends to attract so many more women than men.

I am a problem solver by nature. I enjoy people. I am fairly analytical. When I put those together, it seemed like a pretty strong combination for handling the various pieces of Human Resources. The relationships I have seen, the people I have met, the stories I have witnessed are invaluable.
We often think about the worst of HR (terminations, etc.), but it has been my pleasure to see people grow, overcome unimaginable barriers, rise to the occasions and thrive. I have seen employers care for employees when it was needed most.
So far, HR has been an excellent choice for me.
