Should B2B sales jobs be on my radar?

I've worked in the B2C space, but I'm thinking I should expand my job search to include B2B sales jobs. Would someone with lots of B2C experience be considered for my B2B sales jobs, or would I be wasting my time?

I would say yes- especially in this economy you should widen your search more than you normally would otherwise. Although there are distinct differences, I think it is definitely worth taking a look at what is even out there. This might provide you with an opportunity to learn a whole new way of doing business that you could be great at.

I think it really depends on your skill level. Do you just sell "stuff" B2C or do you sell customized solutions? Most B2B sales require selling more than products. You should also be knowledgeable in how to sell to multiple decision makers in an organization. Finally, many B2B sales have long closing cycles. If you aren't used to that, it could be a tough transition.

Guess my final bit of advice would be: do you think you can do it? If you believe it, then you will make it happen!
