Small Business Stimulus: What should be done?
As small businesses try to survive this recession, there has been heated debate as to what should be done to stimulate growth of existing and new small businesses. Some argue that it should be done through tax credits for employing more people, others argue it should be done by having the government guarantee more small business loans. Others argue that tax cuts will put more money in people's pockets, thus stimulating demand. In an economy where more than half the Gross National Product is attributed to small business and almost 60% of the workforce is employed by small business, it is clear that the small business is core to our economy? What can be done to get small businesses back on track - Any ideas?

Everyone likes to talk about taxes, health care reform, and an unfriendly administration, but these are all distractions. If we want to fix the structural issues plaguing our economy, we should invite and encourage the world's best and brightest to start businesses here. Job growth doesn't come from small businesses. It comes from new businesses and in particular *good* new businesses.
