Is there a PDF on how to create a website?

I want to start my own website, but I don't want to go the yahoo route again. I want to create my own custom site. Is there a PDF available that breaks down the basics. I've been searching on google, but I keep getting "turn your website into a pdf". Can anyone help me out. Also looking for websites that give basic help too.

Here you go Mark ... http://www.avanquest.com/USA/software/we8-130293?gclid=CO7GkpWf8p8CFQtfagod-R... ... this is realtively cheapsoftware that's drag and drop so you will; be able to put together, and update as required, your own site pretty easily.

This site, http://www.somerssummit.com/ ... was built using this program

Mark,

I'm not sure if you're looking for technical guidance or business process advice. If the latter, you might check out a resource that my company (AT&T) developed for Small Businesses on the main points to consider for building, deploying and marketing a site. I hope it can be a good resource for you.

Mark,

Not sure if you are looking specifically for a website or Demand Gen website, but I recently read the whitepaper 'How to Find New Customers" by Jeff Ogden. If you are gong to use the website for marketing/sales activity then I would add this to the list of articles you read.
