Is there a way to build my own applications in the cloud?
I heard Salesforce.com has a product that gives you the ability to design your own applications. Is this true? What other vendors have products like this?

In addition to providing a cloud-based application (Software as a Service), Salesforce.com is providing an application environment where you can integrate your business with their application or obtain integration pieces by other providers.
There are quite a few other players who also play in the Platform as a Service (PaaS) space. See one definition here: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Platform_as_a_service
Additionally, vendors such as Microsoft and Amazon and Google provide application platforms in the cloud where you can build your own apps to do whatever you want. All of these are discussed in the various Focus research documents on Cloud Computing.
