I think the topic about 'marching your ERP implementation across the finish line' is a good topic. My company often helps companies with their ERP implementations and it is very often underestimated what is needed to make it successful. Many times we are called in to straighten out bad implementations. Though helping companies out is great, I would love to hear that companies are learning how to avoid getting into this situation.

Hi folks ,.. I see my reply above was a bit garbled .. I apologize but I just had cataract surg ... this topic is in mamy ways a tough one .. there are way to many variables to factor in, and the personality of the company as a whole is a big factor as well ... my staff helped to implemnent their share (US) og a global SAP intallation some years ago ... frankly I was opposed to it altogether, but since my good business buddy of 20 yrs was the EVP and PM I just sat in the cornor and let my folks do their jobs ... not normally my style to say the least, but I had other stuff to attend to anyway ... so what I observed was that while attention to detail was a big deal and had to be supported by careful planning, there were really two factors that assured success IMHO ... common sense and a leader whio definitely marches them and the project and the vendor across the finish line ... the PM was a real drill sgt believe me, and if they were letting women into the Marines in her day, Paris Is would have never been the same ... she was also pretty smart and one of the kindest human beings I ever had the pleasure to know and work with (as long as you toed the line :)

How about, How to find the right consultant? Where exactly should you look?

The key to finding the right consultant is first to define what your needs are. Consultants all have areas they are experts in and making sure you get one that specializes in the areas you need assistance with is key. Once you have these defined you can search on the internet or even use areas such as Linked in to help search. The next step is making sure you have several conversations with them to discuss your needs and how they can help to be sure you have the right person. Make sure you are comfortable with them and you understand what they can do to help you out.
