Hi Eugene,

If you're looking for marketing management, full-blown ERP might be overkill. ERP typically integrates a business' core operations. For an architectural firm, that might include: finance, billing, program and project management, resource planning, estimating, and some form of document management (among other things).

There are packages specifically geared to marketing management, ones that can help with managing online and live campaigns, tracking and nurturing leads, and more. However, like all types of systems, functionality can be widely divergent from one package to the next.

Before looking at software, I would strongly recommend that you define your business' marketing requirements, if you haven't yet done so. Only then will you be in a position to assess whether different packages hit your actual business needs.

On this ERP roundtable, we will be offering advice on how to gather business requirements in an effort to find a well-fitting system. Please feel free to ask questions about your business' marketing requirements and potential software needs.
