The company I work with is in the same "high-risk business" situation as you; we are a collection agency and finance company to your exact industry and many others. May I suggest you explore Net Deposit and/or PowerPay.com.
Also, have you considered outsourcing your payment processing via account servicing and collections? This would provide access to an existing merchant account through a 3rd party who has already been approved.

Do you have a SamsClub or Coscto account? You might check there as they both offer merchant accounts.

This answer may be self-serving. I have worked with many of the card processors over several decades. I know of only one that is willing to accept high-risk transactions. I recently was able to get a riskier business than yours boarded with them. Oddly enough, the costs to you are not appreciably higher than if you were low-risk.

If you are having trouble finding a high risk payment processor, you may seek council in a consultant to place your account for you.

Watch out for high sign up fees and costs when seeking a high risk merchant account. Most of the companies charging these high fees to sign up are just attempting to place you with any merchant just to collect these fees. Check out: http://www.merchantaccountmentors.com/high-risk-merchant-account/

Hello Stephen,

We can't help you with a merchant account...........however we are a high-risk processor in the electronic check/Check 21 arena........One of the chief advantages is that it is much harder to charge-back the transaction versus a credit card transaction. It's another form of payment that you can give your clients.
