WEB DESIGN LEEDS - HELP!
For the phrase "Web design Leeds" Deepblue-digital recently settled back to position 37 Searched from the UK on Google.co.uk after showing good improvements over the last 4 months to the point just before Caffeine settled down, we had actually hit page one.
Companies above and below have MORE backlinks (www.bglam.com are 1 below us and have 43,270 links)
Companies above and below have LESS backlinks (www.seamless-marketing.co.uk are 3 above us and have 1100 links)
Obviously I am aware of LINK QUALITY but some of the LINK QUANTITIES as seen above are 3-4 times more or 3-4 times less.
Domain age seems arbitrary, above us and below us are both older and younger.
Website size and quality seem to have little bearing for example if you view www.seamless-marketing.co.uk again who are 2 places above us, as a web company they seem very much smaller and have done a lot less work than Deepblue-digital.
My question is this, what am I missing here?
Why is www.seamless-marketing.co.uk 2 higher than Deepblue-digital, what lessons are to be learned?
We are not asking for the world just to start to understand either where we have gone/going wrong and what needs improving?

You might want to look at the free SEO tool "Website Grader" from Hubspot at www.websitegrader.com. It provides an Internet Marketing Report for your website - with suggestions for improving your site in very specific ways.
I use Website Grader on each of my clients' accounts every month to benchmark the improvements in their SEO.

Jason, you are stuffing keywords into your page and not telling the search engines which is the most important copy.
Here is your title:

Your keywords and description tags are also keyword stuffed. Do not repeat yourself. Only use words found on the page.
Here is what I would use:
Leeds Professional Website Designers
The "Web Design Leeds" text on the page should be in a h1 tag.
If you want to keep the page simple, put a group of anchor text links to what you do instead of the paragraph of keyword stuffed text.
It is not the amount of links that will get you to the top but the way you present your on page relevance.
