What anti-virus software have you had a positive experience with?
I currently use McAfee for my anti-virus, but am considering changing to Norton or Microsoft Security Essentials. Which of these do you think offers the best value and strongest protection?

Hi Sarah,
I would suggest looking at testing results when searching for a new vendor. The brand names don't always perform the best, and many free applications rank high as well. A few of the certifications dealing with Antivirus performance to check are AV Comparitives, ICSA Labs and the VB 100. Additionally, choosing an application that is OESIS OK certified can verify it's interoperability with many network solutions by Cisco, Juniper, etc. when remote access or similar is used.
Good luck!

I second Jeff's answer, use lab reviews. My personal favorite is AV Comparatives. They offer great reports with lots of details on how they test the various AV systems. Make sure to review them once a year as the leaders can change from year to year.
I am very comfortable with Symantec Endpoint Protection for my server and a hands-on experience of a few good once like EST NOD32 4 and the Free AVG 9. works impressively for me...
thanks
Leonard
