What are the best credit card machines for small business?
I just started a new business and we're looking for a cheap credit card machine. Should we take a look at any specific machine or are they pretty much the same?

Hi Christy! If you're going strictly by price, this neat service allows you to compare price quotes from credit card machine and wireless credit card terminal vendors in your area:
http://www.buyerzone.com/retail/credit-card-machines/rfq-credit-card-machines/
This allows you to take the reigns on the sale and choose which vendor gives YOU the best price.
Hi Christy,
There are a multitude of terminals available for small businesses: they are mostly the same, so spending a ton of money on one is not usually worth it. Some things to keep in mind:
1) NEVER lease a terminal from a processor, or fall for "free terminal" offers. they end up ripping off your business in the long run.
2) when switching processors, you don't have to buy a machine...your new processor will help you reprogram your old terminal.
3) You will also need a gateway (like authorize.net) if you plan to do online sales.
If you are shopping for a good processor, check out TransFS.com (http://www.transfs.com) It's the comparison shopping site for credit card processors (like Expedia is for travel). Users save an average of 40% on processing costs.
If you have any questions, feel free to email me at stella@transfs.com.
Best of luck!

Hi Christy,
Keep in mind that BuyerZone is a lead generation site and will require you to enter your personal information so that sales reps can contact you. They will not give you bids straight up, but rather sell your information to companies who then contact you with offers.
