What are the names of good VoIP providers that offer service to Canada?

I need to have Canadian area codes & phone numbers. I’ve looked into 8X8, but have ruled them out since they don’t provide Canadian numbers. Where else should I consider looking? I only need about 8-10 phones.

Thanks, Michael. The websites you provided were very helpful. Don't know why all the VoIP companies can't provide services for their neighbor. Cheers

Remember to always compare providers before making a decision. Contracts can be killers.

I think I may be able to help. If you are interested and want more information, please email me and we can arrange a time this week to talk. We are a nationwide VoIP provider and we also have our services/solutions in Canada for the convenience of people/businesses like yourself.

Isn't this nice, getting your research done for free? You haven't specified where you're located, or whether you want numbers for homes or businesses. Vonage comes up all the time, but as Michael says, there are lots to choose from. A couple of others to consider are Primus and Comwave. I'm assuming you're targeting SOHO/very small businesses. If you're targeting larger customers, you'll need to work with bigger partners who can provide better QoS.

Regarding your question about why they can't all provide Canadian service - I'm not going to get into that here, but 911 compliance is a big one. It's the main reason why Skype doesn't provide DIDs here.

We worked with Shaw Communications as a VoIP equipment provider (Motorola SBV series) and I see they now offer business services. Maybe they could provide services you need.

Hello Brandon,

We do Canadian (worldwide) telephone numbers and even do business with a Canadian Telco for this and can give you good pricing for it.

You can then use them in Hosted PBX or get your own IP PBX on site or get it Hosted. We are a 3CX partner and you can find us in their software based IP PBX as well.

We deliver all you need as far as I can judge right now.

You can compare different VoIP system prices here as well as find a vendor in your area: www.buyerzone.com/telecom-equipment/voip-phone-systems/rfq-voip-phone-systems/

When picking a vendor, you should investigate them. Don’t take a chance on unlicensed or unauthorized vendors.

Good luck!
