What are some other virtual event providers aside from On24?

We've been using On24 to hose our webinars and haven't been happy with the performance. What are some other virtual event providers that you have tried and thought worked well?

Hi Laura,

Based on your questions, I'm assuming that you're looking for providers who can do both webinars and virtual events. I'm also including some webinar-only providers below:

1) Virtual Events + webinar: There are several that offer their own webinar/webcasting or can plug-n-play with others. The webcasting/webinar capabilities will differ accordingly. The providers to consider are (in alpha) 6Connex, Inxpo, Unisfair. I believe that Stream57 also has a virtual event offering, but I'm unsure how developed the offering is. In terms of providers based outside of the US, there is CGS 360 Virtual Events and Imaste.

2) Webinar/webcasting: I'm assuming that you're anticipating 500-1000 per webinar, which may vary according to the provider. The ones that come to mind are (in alpha): Adobe Connect, BrightTalk, Stream57, Talkpoint, and Webex.

You can probably narrow down the providers based on your needs and priorities, such as lead gen, metrics, scalability, customer service, ease-of-use, cost etc.

I'm more than happy to chat offline if you have more specifics in mind.

Best,
Cece

Im the CEO of a global events and business information company. We ran two virtual events last year - one with Unisfair and one with On24, so we could compare directly.

On24 were streets ahead of Unisfair in terms of customer service and the usability of the platform. Unisfair's customer service was pretty bad. The only advantage Unisfair has over On24 is the fact that once the keynote webinars have finished you can auto take all of the viewers to the sponsor's stand to massively boost their traffic. You cant do that on On24...

happy to talk offline if you want any other help oliver.sloane@raptureworld.co.uk

Hi, Laura!

We're big fans of Inxpo (www.inxpo.com) at Focus.com -- it's the platform we're using for our Focus Interactive Summits, like the one going on today. If you want to check Inxpo out under "virtual real-life" conditions, the Capitalizing on Social Media Summit is accessible at http://focus.com/c/Buz/.

We also use the Citrix GoToMeeting and GoToWebinar solutions quite successfully at Focus.com. They offer free trials so you can experience them at no cost.

Hope this helps. Keep the Focus.com community apprised of what you learn, please, and thanks for your question! Back to the Summit! :-)

Hello, Laura -

Like CeCe says - virtual events and webinars are not the same thing - but you can also separate the full-service option from the DIY option. Are you interested in creating the webinars yourself - or do you like having a service provider create them for you?

The cost savings can be substantial if you take on the production duties yourselves. The knowledge that each detail has attended to is also reassuring for live events.

We've found the break-even for most folks is around four events per year.

We could discuss using our WebCaster software to create events yourself - or provide you with a list of service providers using our software . They would provide you with a turn-key solution.

If you're interested - here's the proper spot on our website:

http://www.mediaplatform.com/webcasting-software/products/overview/webcaster/

So I guess the question is - you want avatars or webinars? :)

Good Luck!

Laura - some time back, I wrote a blog posting about tips for selecting a virtual event platform. For me, it comes down to the 6 P's: People, Platform, Production, Price, Process and Partners. Here's a link to the full posting:

Hey Laura, I'd love to address your issues with ON24, but we can't find your name on our client list. My apologies! We take customer satisfaction very seriously around here, and I'd really appreciate getting more feedback from you. How can I best reach you? Or, if you prefer to contact me, you can email PR@on24.com. Thanks!

Hi Laura,

Per Michael, I neglected to put Citrix Webinar-to-Go on the list of vendors to consider for webinars.
