Budget! mobile app range is between $30K and $150K and can go up from there
Companies often fail to distinguish between enterprise-grade mobile solutions and mobile apps built on-the-fly. Enterprise-grade solutions are built considering a rugged architecture that can stand up to load as well as be easy to modify (requirements are ever-changing!). Mobile apps built on the fly work and that's it - when they come under load or they need to be modified they collapse. On the other hand, enterprise grade solutions are expensive. The biggest mistake companies do is to take the short-sighted approach of chosing the cheapest solution that works!
The CIO's dilemma is most often getting confused on which direction to follow when going in for mobility. My suggestion is to engage a consultant who hopefully knows!
