What is a "balanced scorecard" and how does it relate to BI?
As I go through my BI research I keep seeing this term: balanced scorecard. What is a balanced scorecard and how does it relate to BI? Does every company need a balance scorecard?

Hi Brian,
A balanced scorecard is a method developed by Robert Kaplan (the same guy who devised Activity-based costing) and others to have a "dashboard" for the enterprise that covers customer, financial, learning and operational perspectives.
Business intelligence in my view is a software tool that gathers information from different "islands" of databases and presents a unified view.
Balanced scorecard could be one of the reports of such a tool.
