What CRM solutions have a strong project and territory management tool?
I've also heard that some territory-management applications can integrate with SFA solutions and some SFA vendors have added some territory management capabilities to their solutions. How do these solutions stack up?

I'm a big fan of Microsoft Dynamics xRM and the ability to support this type of need. Custom rules, workflow and entities allows robust territory management and project setup and tracking.
Salesforce Enterprise or Unlimited Edition is good if you get additional add-ons or customize it. Also, Siebel is good too, although very pricey.
NetSuite has a very versatile territory management capability, from simple round-robin to complex rules, including sales rep notifications, which are easy to setup.
There is a job tracking module which costs extra that allows for detailed project planning for multiple jobs with resource assignment, milestones, and time tracking that flows into employee payroll and customer invoicing.
For Sage SalesLogix and SageCRM users, TimeLinx Software has a strong Project and Service Management module fully integrated within the CRM. It automatically takes a Sales Opportunity directly into delivery of the work and customer support. Included in 3 Editions are projects, tasks, resources, schedules, milestones, time entry, expense management, contract management, retainers, and more. Also included is a financial calculator which performs complex premium rate calculations to determine and charge precise revenues and costs, and feeds bi-directionally into popular accounting systems from Sage, Intuit, and Microsoft.

Microsoft CRM has a great Project Management module. I am also impressed with what SugarCRM has come up with. Their Project Management module has its very own types of tasks and activities. They have thought this one through pretty well. For an affordable SAAS CRM, Sugar and Microsoft seem to offer the most complete packages.
