What CRM system can I run on apple snow leopard?

I have a small business that I run off of Macs. We are all using Snow Leopard and are looking for a CRM tool that is both cost effective, yet will fully support our business. Any recommendations?

There are quite a few CRM options available for you. Most of the web-based CRM systems will run on a Mac, though you might have to download a different browser. There are a couple of Mac-specific software options too, namely, Daylight and Elements.

I found this article on Focus awhile back. Its titled, "A CRM for Mac OS X?" and would be a good starting point for your research.

Thank you for the article Guy, I will have a look at it as I have been asked this some times.

A couple of CRM that aré less MS Internet Explorer oriented are vTiger & Sugar CRM, both have web and will run with Firefox.
You will also find free options to run a MySql, apache & Php server I use one really easy to install and Manage called MAMP

You could probably run Microsoft Dynamics CRM using the hosted version. I already have one client that is running Microsoft Dynamics CRM using Macs, in his case they are running it on their own Virtual Server, but the hosted option would be cost effective for you and Microsoft CRM will certainly support your business,if it is configured correctly. However, I am unsure what Snow Leopard is and whther this would change anything.

I am happy to talk further, either on or off list if this helps you.

I usually don't give recommendations on crm before assessing your full business picture and understanding where you want to be in 12-16 months because there are over 10 CRM and contact management softwares available for the Mac. I agree with Mr. Jackson on Daylight, and to add Filemaker as being Mac-based, but not your best alternatives. Since you pose this question in this fashion, I would suggest you starting with ACT. Moreover, ACT for Web or The ACT Cloud. This will provide you with what you are looking for in a cost effective and fully support solution. ACT Premium for Web can scale up to 50 users and comes in both on-premise and hosted platforms. The ACT Cloud is a new offering from Datalogic and includes Mac support, training for your users and db customization to fit your group's specific needs. Check them out and call Alicia over there. http://theactcloud.com/act_hosting_programs.html

Hi

We provide a hosted CRM solution using GoldMine and this means that Macs and PCs can use it without issue, and even combinations of machines in the same business. Using a simple Remote Desktop Connection via Terminal Services, our clients work easily with their CRM solution and also take advantage of our system support, superb dual backup and low cost solution.

We even use mac laptops in house! Do let me know if you would like more details. GoldMine is a cost effective, easy to use, scaleable and popular CRM which offers as much or as little functionality as you require.

The largest part of your decision making should be around the functionality that you require and the business processes which you want to bring into your CRM system. We can help you identify and plan these, even if you decided that an alternative solution was the best fit for your business.

Best regards

In addition the above mentioned CRMs I recommend to have a look at Salesforce (fully web-based). There is a free trial option on their website, just check it out to see if it does what you need.

Hi Paul

I think the key phrase was "run your business" and this is not possible with CRM only. I used to work for a company called NetSuite who deliver CRM (for sales, service and marketing), ERP (for accounts, banking, shipping) and eCommerce (for all online activitiy). This product received 4.5 out of 5 stars from Macworld. I still believe it's the best tool to "run your business"

Regards
Chris

I was asking myself a similar question a few weeks ago, and I found a self-hosted solution called Active Collab which I think would be useful for you. I know this is an old post, but it might help others :0)
