What do you think about LinkedIn's new 1-click, job application feature?
Linkedin recently added a tool that allows members to apply to positions listed online using the new "Apply with LinkedIn" feature. What are your thoughts regarding this tool and is it the way of the future? http://bit.ly/q8CvdI

I'm grateful for anything that streamlines the application process. The fact that it doesn't require uploading personal information to yet another database is another huge plus.
When an online application becomes too cumbersome and time consuming I usually just stop in the middle and find an alternative route to the hiring manager.
Linkedin is a gem of a resource for freelance writers as well as for jobseekers and I am both.

People-- even job applicants-- have gotten used to 1-click convenience (thank you, Amazon). It will take time, perhaps a year or two, but eventually this-- or something very like it-- will become standard for online job applications. There are some hurdles to overcome, e.g., employer inertia and intransigence, working through the OFCCP requirements for a standardized employment process, etc. But the compelling ease and elegance of the solution is undeniable.
