What do you think about the (most recent) Facebook privacy news?

Facebook has been taking a LOT of fire lately about their privacy policies and practices, and because of this the company has announced they are going to be releasing simpler privacy controls tomorrow (5/26). What is your take on all of the Facebook drama? Do you think they’ll emerge this backlash unscathed, or has their disregard for user privacy really struck a nerve with people? As Mark Zuckerberg said, do you think the company has moved “too fast”? Or is this whole concept of an “open world” something that people have yet to wrap their heads around?

In my opinion the privacy controls have never been the problem, yes they are difficult to get to but they do offer you a granular look at who you are sharing everything with. The problem has been Facebook constantly changing the privacy settings behind the scenes and telling users after the change. They have treated users privacy like it means nothing. Those thoughts aside I am looking forward to seeing their new controls and hoping that they have discontinued their tactics of changing users privacy to make advertisers happy.
