This might be a trick question, but I'll take the question at face value. I'm pretty old school, but as a pragmatist, I'd say that too much choice is a bad thing. For people who have grown up with the Internet, there are so many options and tools for doing things, but it's hard to say whether this makes us better at our jobs or not. Sure, we can multi-task, but I think that's overrated. Some people can do it well, but it seems to me that if you have average PC/tech skills, your productivity won't be that great working this way.

My view is that most of us struggle with using all these tools, and in this case, more is not always better. There's a long philosophical discussion itching to go here, but this isn't the place for that. In short, too much choice/too many tools is the biggest hindrance for most of us --- and for the minority who have truly mastered all the tools and skills, the biggest hindrance is the opposite - the frustration when you realize that most of your peers can't keep pace, and that you're off-the-charts productivity may end up going to waste. Pretty bleak, huh?
